Williams ropes a ball into right field but J. West fails to score. Causey fields a hot hit ground ball off the bat of C. Smith and turns a double play to end the inning.

Bottom - Dean Curley strikes out swinging for the first out. D. Bargo strikes out swinging as well. Cal Stark is up with two outs and draws a five-pitch walk to bring up Christian Moore. Moore laces a double into left field, he would move up to third after a throw home fails to get out Cal Stark. (3-1) Blake Burke hits a soft ground ball and Jamie Arnold has a throwing error pulling the first baseman off and Moore scores (4-1) B. Amick flies out to left to conclude the inning.

Third Inning: Florida State Bats around in the Third (4-7)
Top - Florida State's J. Tibbs leads off with a single to center. He's quickly placed on third when M. Dinges singles and advances on the throw to center field. J. Ferrer hits a two-run double into the right-field gap. (4-3) D. Cantu singles to right field, but J. Ferrer can not score. A. Lodise is hit by a pitch to load the bases. That will bring up a pitching change for the Tennessee Volunteers. LHP, Kirby Connell will enter with the bases loaded and nobody out. Connell strikes out D. Faurot for the first out. J. West walks to score another run. (4-4). Two more runs score on what should have been a double play ball to second base, an error from Burke at first extends the inning. (4-6) Cam Smith hits a double into left field and Dreiling kicks it around on the warning track, scoring M. Williams. (4-7). J. Tibbs strikes out to finally end the top of the third.
