FROM 45 MIL RUBBER TO POLYETHYLENE POND LINERS/GREENHOUSE/WATER CONTAINMENT/ HAY TARPS/RV COVERS/ROOF COVERS AND ANYTHING ELSE YOU NEED A LINER TO COVER and you get my advice for free

NOTICE: FOR WHATEVER REASON, MY SERVER IS DELEATING SOME EMAILS! I ALWAYS RESPOND SO IF YOU DO NOT GET A RESPONSE FROM ME, PLEASE CALL ME.

There is a company here and on Amazon selling ’45 mil” rubber liner for less than most of us pay for it! Please be careful! I have asked them to send me a sample and they refused and then I did some digging to see what they say about their product and noticed their warranty is only for one year and their product is made in China, which means you have no idea of its chemical composition. Do your “due diligence” otherwise, as they say, you get what you pay for!

I will never talk poorly about another company that is advertising but will say this: No matter whom you buy from, or the product you choose, please do yourself a favor: Before you order, please, save yourself future problems, take a moment and put in the name of the business and the words “ REVIEW OR COMPLAINTS” after their name. Don’t be taken in on low cost because once you hit the “add to cart” button all their profit is in the huge shipping cost you will pay so make sure you are comparing “apples to apples” and not “apples to oranges!

Let’s talk about something most pond people have never heard of because all we knew or heard mentioned was Firestone 45 mil EPDM rubber liner. There is a new “kid on the block” that is actually old but now the go to for larger ponds. Polyethylene is far from new but new to me in the last 8 years. It is superior in several different ways that will make your life easier when building your new pond and save you money!

Polyethylene is so resistant to water absorption and chemical damage that it's often certified as food safe and is certified NSF-61, which designates it as suitable for storing drinking water. Right now I do not think 45 mil EPDM rubber has that same rating but I am not sure!

Firestone sold their production line of rubber to Holcim, who has changed the name to Elevate but is still able to use the old Firestone logo. The liner is no longer owned or produced by Firestone. Now we have another company carrying 45 mil rubber that is also going to give it their name so it may become a bit confusing to you guys but know this…….if it say 45 mil EPDM rubber that is what it is, ignore the new brand names that are indigenous to each company and it will only get more confusing over time.

I now have the availability of shipping from Oregon to anywhere so please do contact me with size, city and zip. The best ways for me to get you a quote is to text or call my cell phone listed below.

It’s time to learn about something more puncture resistant, 1/3 lighter in weight and 3 times stronger than rubber and the great news is it is 1/3 the cost of 45 mil rubber. It has been around for years as it is what your golf courses and the government use for containment/chemical liners. Unlike rubber that comes in increments of 5 feet polyethylene comes in sizes you cannot buy rubber in and yes, it is fish and plant safe, food safe and does NOT need underlayment unless you have some very sharp rocks. OK, I always tell it like it is and Polyethylene is a bit stiffer but that is because it has reinforced mesh but 45 mil EPDM rubber and poly have the same 20 year warranty. Can you find anything in my description you don’t like? I thought so!

Here is the proof and difference between EPDM and POLYETHYLENE LINERS

I had a customer who wanted to buy from me but sent me her bid from another online company that is advertising polyethylene 30 mil pond liners actually below my cost. I was so shocked and as a good detective I wanted some answers. I took the time to contact the company and asked for my wholesale pricing and samples to be sent to me. I was shocked when the sample arrived in my office, it was not good enough to use for a tarp to cover lawn furniture let alone line a pond. I contacted my supplier and asked if they knew why the cost difference and anything about the company advertising Polyethylene 30 and 40 mil liners as I do.

LOOK AT THE DIFFERENCE IN PHOTO #2 – the top is the reinforced liner I sell and the bottom is what the other company is selling as poly 30 mil. One is reinforced the other is not! As they say, compare products before you buy, don’t just believe all the advertising one company is doing to confuse buyers when they are actually selling an inferior product made in China and you have no real idea if it is fish and plant safe. See the photo in my ad to see the difference and as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words! Be sure you are buying a product that will last and that is what you need for your project and be wary of products supposedly the same yet prices that are half of what anyone is quoting you.

HERE ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN RUBBER, AND POLYETHYLENE – please look at the photos and the “COMPARISON CHART” showing you in numbers what I am pointing out here! Look in the upper part of the chart for the PLL-30 and PLL-40 in comparison to the Firestone 45 Mil EPDM down closer to the bottom and do not confuse the MIL “thickness” and compare as both are made from different products. Both are great liners and do different jobs especially since 45 mil rubber is what I recommend for smaller ponds and the poly is made in any size you need in one piece and I recommend that for larger ponds.

GREENHOUSE FLOORS: For those starting up a new greenhouse “grow” of any kind I have a ground cloth that is both, inexpensive, waterproof and able to be walked upon. If you need it to drain it is as easy as punching a few holes in it!
POLY is used for Agriculture/hydroponics/greenhouses/tank liners/boats/roofs and RV covers and a wide range of containment applications. You can be assured it is both safe and potable for fish and humans! We have all the weights and strengths for different applications.

45 MIL RUBBER: Can be picked up 5 minutes after you order if you are close to one of our locations otherwise it will need to be shipped. Not all of our locations are carrying the larger rolls of 40 or 50 foot wide liners because of the weight! It is soft (your old tire inner tube) It weighs .33 lbs. per sq. ft. and once you get over a certain size you best call in all your friends to help with installing it as it’s heavy! It is easier to puncture than polyethylene therefore it is usually recommended to have some kind of underlayment, or sand, or old carpet under it for protection. It is sold in increments of 5’s.
